Meredith Savill’s journey started in 2024, when she was first introduced to ETA by a friend. Meredith shared, “I knew starting a business from scratch wasn't in the cards, so when I discovered it might be feasible to buy an existing business by leveraging an SBA loan and potential investors, I knew I had to give it a shot.” She gave herself two years to make the dream happen, or set it aside.

Just four months later, she found herself under contract for a business, but it fell through. Undeterred, Meredith started bETA in 2025 while in full search mode and already under LOI for her second potential deal.

Why ETA?

Meredith always knew she wanted to own a business.  Initially, she wanted to have a wholesale distribution business, but most importantly, she wanted a business where the financials made sense. After her second potential deal at a stone and cabinetry fabrication business fell through due to financing issues and impending tariffs, she went back on the hunt. That’s when she found a listing on BizBuySell for a Molly Maid location. The third time was the charm.

While she wasn't searching for a franchise, she wasn't opposed to it either. The proven systems and standardized operating procedures were compelling vs. a traditional small business. With her background in hospitality management, she saw how she could make it work.

“I am about to start my third week in the business and so far I am loving it!”

Ownership In Action

Meredith’s first priority was to improve compensation and benefits. While creating generational wealth is her goal, it’s important to her that everyone shares in the success of the business.

Her team has been happy with improvements so far. Meredith launched a 401k program, added paid vacation days, paid holidays, and implemented payroll software. Her hands-on and present management style has boosted employee engagement.

“Make sure to clearly spell out what a transition plan with the seller looks like.” Meredith learned this firsthand – on day two, the sellers didn't show up. She continued, “Fortunately, we have a fantastic office manager in place and between her and the franchise support we are doing OK.”
